Swarm Removal

Why honeybees swarm?

Bees swarming is a normal natural process in the life-cycle of honeybees. When a hive swarms, the queen bee will leave with roughly half of the colony. The remaining bees will then raise a new queen.

The swarm will contain thousands of bees. When they leave the hive, they will usually cluster in a nearby tree while the scout bees are out searching for a suitable, permanent home, When the new home is agreed upon, the swarm will become airborne again as they fly to their new home. This process can take several days.
